History

EQUIPCO is one of the few locally owned and operated construction equipment providers in the New Orleans market and the only full service construction equipment dealer located in the city of New Orleans.

As a result of Hurricane Katrina, two veteran construction equipment providers came together to start EQUIPCO. Donald Charbonnet and Shannon Fethke have been involved in the local construction equipment industries for many years in senior sales and management positions with a number of well known local and national companies.

EQUIPCO is a dealer of many lines, but it was Terex that provided the opportunity to get the business rolling. By realizing the vision the owners had but their limited available capital, Terex helped open the doors for EQUIPCO to become an authorized dealer. Terex is the 3rd largest construction equipment manufacturer in the world. EQUIPCO's main focus is on selling and renting Terex earth moving equipment such as excavators, backhoes and mini excavators, which also includes other Terex products such as Genie aerial platforms, generators, light towers, telehandlers and much more.

As a result of Terex's support, other manufacturers also saw the benefit and opportunity of coming into the New Orleans market and are represented by EQUIPCO, such as GEHL skid loaders, Stone Construction Equipment, Magnum Products, Ledwell and more.
